01What this site collects

When you browse, the site records basic visit information: the pages you view, how long you stay on them, the date and time, your device type and browser, the site that referred you, and your approximate location (city and region, estimated from your IP address by the hosting provider). A random identifier is stored in your browser so repeat visits can be counted without knowing who you are. Approximate location is also used to limit access to the site from some regions. None of this identifies you personally.

If you use the contact form, the site stores what you submit: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, project type, and message, along with the time it was received.

02How it is used

Visit information is used only to understand how the site performs, such as which pages get attention and where visitors come from. Contact submissions are used only to reply to you. Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own marketing.

03Cookies and tracking

The site does not use advertising cookies. The only login cookie belongs to the site owner's private admin area. Visit counting uses a browser storage identifier as described above, plus Vercel Analytics, a cookieless analytics service. Because the site does not track you across other websites, it does not respond to Do Not Track signals differently; there is no cross-site tracking to disable.

04Where data lives and how long

The site is hosted on Vercel, and data is stored encrypted on Vercel's infrastructure in the United States. Contact submissions are also delivered to Matt by email through Resend, an email delivery service, and to Matt's mailbox. Contact messages are kept until they are no longer needed for correspondence. Visit records are kept for up to 12 months.

05Security and spam protection

To keep the contact form and the site free of abuse, your IP address is checked when you send a message. It is stored only as a one-way scrambled code, used to limit how many messages one sender can send, and deleted within 24 hours. Submissions are screened automatically; anything flagged as spam is not emailed and is deleted after 30 days.

Automated visitors that identify themselves as bots, such as search engine and AI crawlers, are logged separately (the bot's name, the page it requested, and its approximate location) so they are not counted as people. This log is kept for up to 12 months.

06Your rights

You can ask what data this site holds about you, ask for a copy, or ask for it to be deleted. California residents have these rights under California law. Email hello@mattspolnik.com and the request will be honored within 30 days. This site does not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of selling.

07Embedded video

Some pages play videos hosted by YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube may collect data when you play a video, per Google's privacy policy.

08Trademarks

Company names, brand names, and logos shown on this site, including the casting platforms linked from the contact page and the brands listed on the home page, are trademarks of their respective owners. They appear only to identify work Matt has appeared in or where his professional profiles can be found, and do not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
